To complement our assessment services, we offer a variety of training courses which aim to provide an in-depth education for staff, carers and parents. All course costs include handouts and our current courses are listed below. Read our training terms and conditions.

Attention Autism Principles: An Overview

An intervention approach that aims to develop natural and spontaneous communication through the use of visually based and highly motivating activities.

Colourful Semantics

An approach aimed at helping children and adults to develop grammar, by cutting sentences up into thematic roles, linking the structure and colour coding them making them easier to learn.

Communication and Autism Awareness

An overview of Communication skills and Autism as a cognitive developmental condition that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people and to their environment. Attendees will be taught strategies to understand and support those with the condition in their relevant settings.

Developing skills in staff teams, which will enable them to cascade these down to team members and improve the service delivery.

Dysphagia (eating, drinking, swallowing) Awareness

Understanding the 5 stages of normal swallow and what these look like when the swallow is abnormal. Attendees will be taught about evaluation and management of dysphagia in adults with learning disability in an interactive workshop.

An approach for teaching communication to children and adults who have Autism, Learning difficulties and profound multiple learning difficulties who are still at early stages of development.

Social Skills Building with Lego

This is a play based intervention which focuses on developing collaborative play and social skills. It is predominately used with children and young adults, who have Autism or social interaction difficulties.

Vocabulary Development

A whole class/staff approach. This approach will support the child or adult to increase the number of words they use in everyday life, which in turn can lead to increasing the person’s ability to communicate through verbal or written language.
